Dear visitors of this page(s), let me finally introduce "officially" my very special "Bottom SCREW", the one that some (few) buyers of my cases already knows... Sincerily, I am quite proud of this my idea ! Unlike Leica cases screws, and, as far as I know, unlike ALL cases screws, this special "Luigi's" screw still leaves the case bottom perfectly flat, without the uncomfortable protrusion on the bottom, that prevents the case (and the camera) to rest firmly even on the most flat surfaces ! His design permit to easily operate it with any thin coins, and in the lower part there is the useful TRIPOD hole, with the smaller thread, the one actually used by ALL makers.

It is quite costly, Eur 50 each - Live mid-market rates (fitted), because:
1. every screw is hand made with a lathe - 2. the screw is all made in solid stainless steel, of which I am a fanatic user, being me a "boat's man"... - 3. to fit well it is a not easy job, it takes a lot of time and care, and there is always the risk to ruine a NEW case !
 
ATTENTION: the "Bottom SCREW" is not fitted in our cases by default !
It will be fitted ONLY upon a clear request, and a related payment for it.

A NEW STRAP PROPOSAL, for who likes (or needs) a FASTLY removable strap:
 
Please, look at the two "vintage like" metal fasteners ! Some, similar, terrible metal fasteners were largely used in the 30's for Leicas, and other cameras, with very DAMAGING results. Now, in the year 2006, Luigi (me) offers them, again, in a very beautiful design and a deluxe finish, with the simple idea that makes them NOT dangerous for a camera ! It is so simple... two simple "bells" made in the same strap's leather, are carefully placed around each fastener, offering a safe and soft contact to the camera body. Or, two large protectors. In those pictures, you'll see the new strap fitted to my beloved M6 Titan, the one presented to me, with the engraving on top:     Luigi Crescenzi      Roma - 1999 and this, well before any "Leica à la carte" :-) It was the only "special" Titan M6!
 
When necessary, as example for removing the strap (it takes 4 seconds !), the user must simply "slide" each bell away from the fastener, allowing an immediate and extremely easy romoval of the fasteners, and strap, from both camera lugs... Eur 55, too.  mid-market rates

ATTENTION: I tested the fasteners with a serious weight.
 
ONE single fastener lift perfectly 12 KG, then say the double when 2 are used on the
TWO camera strap lugs. But, snatching it strongly and repeatedly still with the 12 KG
 weight hanging, after several violent snatches (6/7), it broke, then it's up to you...
The good news is that the special metal of it is LESS harmful to the camera lug !

Why I show them in this (cases) page ? Because I suggest
you to order it/them along with a case, avoiding to pay the shipping cost
for the soft release, alone ! I already placed one of them in EACH of my cameras... :-)

The softrelease screws into the remote shutter release mechanism inside the shutter button and provides a few advantages.
 
First, it physically raises the height of the shutter button, allowing you to use the joint or pad of your finger to fire the shutter rather than the tip. This results in a smoother action, more like squeezing a trigger than prodding a button, which reduces camera shake a little and is (to many people at least) more comfortable. Generally, the cable release socket also has a smoother action than the shutter button, so the softrelease turns it into something of a hair-trigger, which again helps reduce camera shake. The effect seems to vary a little camera-to-camera, but I find them essential items on my M6 and Canon P.
 
Most users experience a combined benefit of about a stop more usability in hand-held shooting: so if you find that you can normally manage sharp hand-held shots at only 1/30 a softie should allow you to go down to 1/15 and achieve the same results. Personally I find that, with the softie in place, I can manage decent shots of 1/4 second quite easily, and even 1/2 if I'm lucky (I must have steady hands).
 
The only downside is, as S. says, you do tend to end up with a few shots of the inside of your camera bag, unless you get into the habit of stashing the camera without winding on first. That said, film's cheap. (feedback from a friendly user...)
